Dog Consultations |

|
Consultations are conducted on a one-to-one basis which enables dedicated attention to your specific needs. The average length of a consultation is two hours. Consultations can cover anything including:
* For help with a new rescue dog please visit our 'Rescue Dogs' page * For help with a new puppy please visit our 'Puppies' page What will happen during a consultation? Observation of current behaviour: The consultation will take place at your home, where your dog is in his normal surroundings and therefore more likely to be himself. If appropriate training maybe also be undertaken in your local park or walking area. History taking: this is essential in order to make an accurate diagnosis of why your dog is behaving in the way he is. We need to discover when and why your dog started to behave in the way he does and what motivates him to continue to behave in this way. Behaviour Modification (Training) Programme: once your dog's history and current behaviour have been discussed, we will work together to develop a training programme for your dog. You will be shown how to implement this training during the consultation. Report: after the visit you will be provided with a comprehensive report which explains your dog's behaviour problems and details how you are going to implement the training programme devised during the consultation. If you were referred by your vet, a copy of the report will also be sent to them. Helpdesk: twelve months free email or telephone support is available to assist and support you as you put your dog's training into place. Further rehabilitation training: if you require extra help in implementing your dog's rehabilitation training this can be arranged. Veterinary Referrals: please note that some behavioural problems will require a veterinary check prior to the visit. This is because behaviour problems can be linked to an underlying medical cause and therefore, to safeguard the welfare of all concerned, a veterinary referral may be required. How much will it cost? Consultations are available within a twenty mile radius of our office in Theale. A two hour session with Rebecca Cox costs £110 and this includes travel expenses, your written report, twelve months email/telephone support and liaison with your vet if required. If you live further than twenty miles from Theale please contact us. |
